We have a network of over 800 rat traps along more the 40 kms of trap lines. Keeping rat numbers down is important in order to protect the wonderful biodiversity and threatened species that call Kotuku Peninsula and Glenfern Sanctuary home.
By adopting a trap you are helping us fund the costs involved in maintaining this network, from the comfort of your own home!
For an annual subscription of $40, you will receive confirmation, you get to name the trap and we will send you regular updates on what your trap has done. This is a popular gift idea for those that have a passion for conservation and a great way to get involved in saving our endangered species.
On the map below you will see coloured circles. The blue circles are traps that have already been adopted and the other coloured circles represent areas or clusters of traps. The colour of each circle indicates the species the traps are protecting.
Zoom in to see individual traps (the smallest circles), select the trap you want, then on the pop-up menu for the trap hit click-here-to-continue to bring up the Adopt a Trap form where you can securely enter your details and complete the payment process.
